Recipe: A Punchy Moscow Mule

Ever go to the bar and see a refreshing drink in a copper mug and wonder what it is? It’s most likely a variation of a mule, a tasty adult beverage made with ginger beer and lime.

If you want to make one at home, this is all you need to do:

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Vodka

  • 4 – 6 ounces of Ginger Beer

  • Mint sprigs and lime for garnish

  • ½ ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice

  • Ice

Tools

Directions:

  1. Mules are traditionally served in copper mugs, so grab your mug and fill it with ice. Copper mugs offer a dual cool sensation—it keeps your drink chilled and it looks…well, cool.

  2. Pour in 2 ounces of your choice of vodka, ½ an ounce of lime juice, and 4-6 ounces of ginger beer (depending on how strong you like your drinks).

  3. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

  4. Top it off with lime slices as a garnish. You can also add fresh mint sprigs to give it a little hint of mint flavor.

Alternatively, you can swap out the vodka for different liquors and make different styles of mules. Use bourbon to create a Kentucky Mule, tequila for a Mexican Mule, gin for a Gin Gin Mule, Irish whiskey for an Irish Mule, and rum for a Rum Mule!
