Sunglasses 101: The Right Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

Finding the perfect pair of sunglasses can be quite the task. With so many styles to choose from, it can take a lot of testing to find the pair that best suits you. Here’s a little guide to help narrow down your search.

Face Shapes

Your face width and length is generally the same with the widest points being the cheeks. Large frames work best. You want to wear frames that feature angular or straight lines to counteract the roundness. Avoid round shapes at all costs!

With a symmetrically balanced face, you have the freedom to choose any frames you please. Try out every style and find the one that suits your personality the best!

Similarly to the round face type—your face width and length is generally the same. The difference is you boast a square jawline so the opposite applies. Try round frames to tone down the definition or any style that has gentle curves that’ll compliment your angular face nicely. Steer clear of sharp styles and geometric shapes.

You boast a lovely face shape with a pointy chin and wider forehead. Your goal is to add some length to your face, so avoid round shapes. Experiment with vertical lines, cat-eye, aviators, and rectangular shapes.

Your face is angular and widest at the temples with prominent cheek bones. Complement your cheekbones with cool round styles or frames that’ll add balance. Aviators work great as well. Avoid oversized or angular shapes—especially ones that are wider than your cheek bones.

Your standout features is your large jawline. You’ve got small cheekbones and a small forehead so you want to avoid small frames over everything. Browline frames look great as well as oversized frames that’ll bring balance to your face. Rounded shapes work great for complimenting your angular jaw.
